Their Vision

To set man free is the primary goal and the only great passion of Amma and Bhagavan and it is also the leading thread of all the University’s activities.
But free from what? Free from suffering and from inner conflict. For them, suffering is born out of a partial and wrong perception of reality and of ourselves. If the perception changes, all our life changes.
The origin of such passion needs to be found at the time when Bhagavan was 3 yrs. old. When he started to feel what others felt, became aware of the fact that people did not perceive the world as him but felt separated from everything and everyone. That feeling of suffering which he felt going through people’s life, he did not feel it within himself. His consciousness has always been like that.
He discovered that the feeling of a separate existence was at the basis of human suffering. This was the first profound intuition which Bhagavan had regarding the world’s vision which than shaped his work in the following years. He realized that human consciousness was able to perceive reality in a much broader and richer way than it was doing. To take humanity back to the splendor and glory of its natural way of being became his true and only passion.
So the vision took shape.
The nature of existence is bliss and it is distinguished by essential qualities such unconditional love, joy and connection with all that surrounds us.
Man’s consciousness is hindered by concepts, ideas, conditionings, and mental constructions. When consciousness is freed from all its contaminations what remains is life, pure consciousness. According to Bhagavan the Oneness or Unity is the liberation of life itself.
